Brad Neven was locally born and bred at Injune north of Roma to a well regarded cattle grazing family. The Pastoral Agency business runs deep in his veins with his Grandfather being the well renowned Private Agent - Bert Shaw of A.E. Shaw & Company.
From a young age he wanted to be an auctioneer and to one day live his dream. He finished his senior schooling at Rockhampton Grammar School and headed west to join the major pastoral house Dalgety Winchcombe FGC in Charleville under the astute management of Chris Todd. After two years in Charleville and sick of the sight of sheep he transferred back to Roma under the watchful eye and experience of Val Harms (C.V. Harms) where he became an accomplished Auctioneer and built a strong clientele in the largest cattle centre in Australia.
In 1988 he joined leading Private Agent Kevin Watkins and his understudy Peter Holland together they forged a very strong and reputable business in Watkins and Company (Qld) Pty Ltd. From there stronger partnerships were formed with Brendan Wade joining the team. Business grew and today Watkins and Company remains one of Queensland's largest and strongest privately owned Stock and Station Agencies. Brad Neven is now the Sole Director.
The name rings synonymous throughout Queensland. They remain at the forefront of many large transactions whether it is the buying or selling of livestock or sale of rural property or real estate. The addition of the LJ Hooker franchise and network allows them to compete both on a national and international level. The Roma office now boosts one of its staff members in the top 7% of salespeople in Australia with sales too numerous to mention and awards to many to count. Our business continues to grow and prosper.
