I recently joined LJ Hooker Property Centre in November 2020 and came with 24 years of experience. I'm often asked since my move "what is it like?" and my automatic response is "next level to anything I have ever experienced".

After five years of working in a team at another agency, it was time to take the next step in my real estate journey. Having dealt with and been approached by many Real Estate offices over the past 20 years, I tend to treat initial offers from Agency Principals as "Guilty until proven innocent" so when approached by the team at LJ Hooker Property Centre I reluctantly accepted a meeting.

Having been with my former office for over a decade and having enjoyed my time there it was difficult to think that I might move but I was open to a discussion. Having listened to what they had to say, I was pleasantly surprised but still not ready to make a jump. I anticipated that this stance might be the end of things but Iain and Graeme we considerate of my position and patient when I let them know that if I did decide to move it would not happen quickly, I had an obligation and loyalty to my clients and an office that had treated me very well. This did not seem to be a problem for them and in fact, I got the sense that they appreciated values like this within their business.

After 7 months of follow-through and much in the way of the management team taking the time to walk me through how things would go, I made the move. It was a massive leap for me, and I was concerned that I had made the right decision, worried I may live to regret it.

I am very happy to report that, the culture, systems, support, and overall dynamic of the office from the Support Staff through to the other Agents and the Management Team has been fantastic.

They ensured that I "Hit the ground running", booking over 70 appraisals in the quarter over Xmas in a stabilizing market - with all of that effort now beginning to really bear fruit.

I am looking forward to a huge year and if this is how a few short months look, I can't wait to see where we are and a couple of years.

I have been in Real Estate since 2004 as a fully licensed Agent and Auctioneer. During that time, I have worked as a salesperson, managed offices, owned and operated various businesses, consulted with other business owners to help them with their companies, and was in the Top 2.5% of LJ Hooker Internationally for sales performance.

In mid-2022, I ended up in an unfortunate arrangement from which I needed to extract myself. It caused a big distraction in my life and career, and my performance was far from acceptable. I was basically ready to leave the industry.

However, I was introduced to Iain Carmichael and the management team while looking for solutions. I had heard great things, and the meeting did not disappoint. I put faith in their commitment, and I quickly learned my future success was now over to me because the tools were there at LJ Hooker Property Centre.

I basically started again from a standing start, and six months later, in December 2022, I had my best settlement month in over ten years, and in February 2023, I again surpassed that result.

After working in another smaller office for 14 years I felt it was time for a change - a change I was scared of doing previously.

After meeting with Iain & Graeme I knew straight away that this office was the right fit for me moving forward in my career, and I was right.
